Tristes Trópicos, a joint-venture emanating from Tiago Martins (Mr.Eko) and Manuel Mesquita (Garcia da Selva), borrowed the title from this famous masterpiece of structuralism and dare to bring back to life the primordial energy that vibrates in the lair of ounces, that polarizes the world and divides the hearts of many living beings into two irreconcilable parts.

André Soares' adventure as a DJ begins in 1998. Several nights at small clubs in Bairro Alto and some underground parties set the stage for what would become, later in 2002, Señor Pelota. His sets are an ecletic yet coherent representation of the good bits of disco, house, techno, electro, punk-funk, rock or pop, which always end up in unexpected surprises. Sapience knows how to mash and combine different styles, and so does Pelota. So, true to his origins but always wary of the current music scene, Señor Pelota obsessively follows the tendencies and harmonies that reinvent tomorrow's sound, always aiming for the perfect dancefloor setting.

João Maria is a wild-card in Portugal's underground music scene. He is highly revered for his impeccable taste, stunning mixing skills and his ability to get even the most reluctant clubbers dancing. Over the past few years, João Maria has played at almost every big-name portuguese festival and beyond, including an invitation to play at an Off Sonar party in 2009, which is part of Europe's most well known electronic music festival, held every year in Barcelona. Between clubs and festival stages, João Maria has shared the DJ booth with some of the biggest names in dance music including Ricardo Villalobos, Matthias Tanzmann, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts and many others.

Yubar is from Madeira Island Portugal. In 2007, at "Cofi Shop Xperience" started the project Av concept together with Dj Dual (audio and video, a pioneer project in Portugal). The residence of Kool Klub Kafé from August 20th 2008 until August 2010, Xpirits Lounge Club 2011. Freshweek 2007 , Atlantic Spring Party 2009, Koolfest 2009, Kool Winterfest 2009, Red Bull Energia Insular 2009, Soundrise sessions 2010,FWF 2010 are some of the events he participated in.
Today, he is producing his first dnb tracks.

Calafatinho Maria is a 23 year old university student and model is also touted by ModAge, which started recently in the area but the DJ is already a familiar face in the Madeira night having already demonstrated their musical choices in various houses of Madeira and also weekly on with the radio program "Mary Calafatinho in the mix" on Antena 3. She began his career in the Mini Eco Bar where she was known as the face of Femme Fatale, then moving on Chega de Saudade, Vespas, Marginal and such events as Pret a Porter. Their sound ranges from chillout, house and minimal.

Garcia da Selva was born 34 years ago in São Jorge de Arroios,a portuguese parish in the municipality of Lisbon. He is a co-founder (together with Norberto Lobo and João Lobo) of the post-rock trio NORMAN and plays solo as GARCIA DA SELVA.

The style of DJ Michael Yang is characterized primarily by being eclectic and becomes especially as a lover of good music. Michael Yang is the founder of the project D-Unit studio space dedicated to artistic creativity, especially the training of DJs and audio production.

DJ: Start career in 1972 I worked in virtually all clubs in the region until the late 80's. From there I chose to appear sporadically. Radio (RDP / Antena 3): Start in 1985 "Noites de Vigila" - style program: 3 hours (20:00 / 23:00) with sounds ranging from "deep house" / "electronica"(1 hour) to the "downtempo / lounge"(2 hours) and sounds more "nu-jazz" / "ethereal"/ "chill" / "environmental "...( 3 hr).

Glance'sis is a duo that was born when DJ Mary B and charismatic singer Marta Plantier decided to join forces. Mary B weaves an eclectic musical soundscape, bringing together chill out, soul, jazz, and downtempo while Marta fills this backdrop with her unmistakeable, vibrant voice and highly original lyrics. The results are truly stunning.

Fabio Pereira, born in Funchal in 1984, began his steps in electronic music for nearly four years when he took his own personality on the slopes deep house, with strong tendencies towards a more progressive line. This artist has already booked contracts with new publishers like NewBorn Records, Mistiquemusic and System Recordings, witch already released more deep house and progressive stuff and it's been watched with very good eyes and with good feedback from all over the world.

Miguel Neto is from the Algarve and is connected to electronic music since early in is life. He has always shown great interest in House and Techno, first as a frequent attendant of clubs, and later on as a DJ. As a fan of analogue sounds and always focused on making a good musical selection, he is able to create moments of musical eclecticism in a very sophisticated way, mixing House with Techno, always knowing how to pump up a dance floor. Lately, he is working on his own record label,
"Assemble Music", in partnership with João Maria.

Guy Blanken - Makam grew up in the small city of The Hague in Holland and is now based in Amsterdam. He performend in big dancefloors in Europe already including Fabric, Watergate, Rex, The Awakenings festival etc. and received attention and huge support from the best house DJ's on the scene including Ricardo Villalobos, Mike Huckaby, Delano Smith, Norm Talley, Kerri Chandler, Chez Damier, Josh Wink, Cassy and Jus-ed just to name a few... After working hard over the course of a year, Guy's album "How Long Is Now" is ready to make its' impression on today's house scene.

Dj Bz aka Paulo Camacho started playing as a DJ in 2000 when he got his first set of technics turntables but his love for dance music started way before in 1993 when he organised various parties at friend's houses.  Since then he has played various times in Lisbon at classic venues such as 'Op Art', 'Mexe Mexe' in Bairro Alto and after hours parties at 'Europa'.   In Madeira he has played in all well known clubs. His sets are a mixture of minimal, tech house and techno. For Bz creating a good vibe is a must!

When Mary B gets behind the decks she likes to build a sophisticated yet deeply intimate atmosphere. Her uncanny ability to mix the innovative and the cutting edge, while still managing to make her sets sound like something you've been listening to your whole life, has seen her take to the stage to open for acts such as Nitin Sawhney and Thievery Corporation. Through her undeniable capacity to adapt to any situation she has also taken to the DJ booth at huge festivals alongside international luminaries like Laurent Garnier, 2ManyDJs and Dixon.
